I am pleased to announce the 56th Annual Chief Samuel Luciano PAL Tournament will
take place on Monday September 17, 2018 at Longshore Country Club here in Westport. I
would like to extend an invitation to you to participate, on the course and/or as a sponsor, in this
The tournament will once again be a double shotgun start (at 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.)
with a scramble format. Honda of Westport will sponsor our hole-in-one contest and prizes will
also be awarded for a hula-hoop contest, longest drive, closest to the pin, putting contest and best
scramble team score. In addition to these prizes and a round of golf on the superbly maintained
Longshore course, the $175 entry fee includes a continental breakfast, lunch, cocktails and
The Westport Police Athletic League is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization founded
in 1948, to promote positive relationships between Westport Police Department personnel and
the community, and in particular the young people of Westport and surrounding towns. We
sponsor ten youth athletic programs; in which more than 2,400 children participate. We own
and, in conjunction with Westport Parks and Recreation, operate the PAL Rink at Longshore
which offers outdoor seasonal ice skating from Thanksgiving through early March. We grant
college scholarships to both the children of our police officers and other members of the
