All players must purchase their own pants. You can purchase them at ASF Sports. The cost will be $ 40.00.
MANDATORY registration and uniform fitting at P.J. Romano - Saturday, May 4 from 9 am – 12 pm or Sunday, May 5 from 12 – 3 pm. All new and returning players MUST attend. If you are absolutely unable to attend, please send an email to
immediately. Please inform your friends to attend this event if they are interested in playing football. PLAYERS MUST BE REGISTERED ON OR BEFORE May 6th to avoid a $100 late fee.
If you miss the uniform fitting, your player will be fitted during the first week of practice in August.
You are assured a place on one of our teams provided you submit the registration materials, including the Parental Consent Form, Doctor Certification, FCFL Parent and Participant Code of Conduct Forms and a $200 equipment deposit.
You may submit a recent school or sports camp physical form in lieu of ours, provided the medical exam occurred on or after December 9th, 2015. We reserve the right to require proof of grade or age if necessary.
Please note: you must read the Parental Conduct and Player/Cheerleader Conduct information and abide by these guidelines in order to participate in the program.
Tackle Football 2016 Registration Fees: $575. A discount of $100.00 per family is offered to families with more than one child in the tackle football and/or cheerleading program (flag not included).
$200 Equipment Deposit –mandatory equipment deposit, payable by separate check to Westport PAL Football. Your child will NOT receive equipment without this deposit. This check will not be deposited. It will be returned when the equipment is returned in good, clean condition, in its entirety, and ON TIME.
NO refunds will be issued after August 23, 2016.
Preseason Practice for Grades 3rd-6th (tackle only) will begin, Monday August 15th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at Saugutuck Elementary School - PJ Romano Field.
Preseason Camp for Grades 7th -8th (Tackle Only) will begin Monday, August 15th from 5pm-7:30pm with Coach Petroccio and the rest of the Staples High School Football Staff at Saugatuck Elementary School - PJ Romano Field.
All Players are required to bring two (2) filled water with their name and grade on it.
If your son has not received his equipment yet your coach will fit him the first week of practice.
August 15th - 18th: 7th-8th Graders - 9:00am-11:00am at PJ Romano Field
August 19th: 7th-8th Graders - 5:30-7:30pm - Practice at PJ Romano Field
August 15th-19th 3rd-6th Graders - 5:30pm-7:30pm at PJ Romano Field
August 22nd-27th - PRactice for ALL Grades 5:30pm-7:30pm
Starting the week of September 5, practices are 3 days a week (except for 3rd and 4th graders who will practice two days a week) - (See Fall practice page)
Wear lightweight shorts, t-shirt and football or soccer cleats (baseball cleats prohibited). Bring a large water bottle. Players are expected to attend all practices, including pre-season preparation camp and practices. Players must practice for a minimum of (6) Six hours before equipment is issued.
