NEW!  SUNDAY BEGINNERS CLINIC (Gr 1-8):  Amy Alvord, Westport PAL Coaching Director, will head up our beginners clinics.  The clinics provide a fun, comfortable environment for players newer to lacrosse to learn or improve upon lacrosse fundamentals: dodging, shooting, throwing and catching, ground balls and cradling.  Girls will have 6 weeks of spirited and engaging drills to foster an early love of lacrosse.  

CLINIC DETAILS:  Sunday Mornings • Saugatuck Elementary School Gym.  Dates 1/8-2/12 • 6 Clinics • $100.

Grades 1-2:  10:00am-11:00am

Grades 3-8 Beginners Clinic*:  10:00am-11:00am • Girls will be paired with their peers whenever possible.

*Girls in grades 3-8 are welcome to sign up for both the beginners clinics, to help hone their stick skills, and the Wednesday clinics to help finesse their game.

NEW!  WEDNESDAY CLINIC (Gr 3-8):  Our Wednesday Night clinics are geared to girls that want to work on stick skills and small sided play in an indoor setting.  Amy Alvord, Westport PAL Coaching Direction will lead 8 weeks of high-paced drills that work on fundamental skills (catching, throwing, cradling, dodging, shooting, ground balls and 1v1 play).  Girls will also get into small sided game-like situations.

CLINIC DETAILS:  Wednesday evenings • Staples Field House.  Dates 1/4-3/1 • 8 Clinics (no clinic 2/22) • $135.

Grades 3-4:  5:45pm-6:45pm

Grades 5-6:  6:45pm-7:45pm

Grades 7-8:  7:45pm-8:45pm

NEW!  PERSONAL TRAINING - BODY BLAST STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING (Gr 5-8):  Staples High School Head Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Functional Strength Coach, Training For Warriors Coach, “G”, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Rosie Rodriguez, will be offering a tailored Strength and Conditioning Program tailored for our lacrosse players.  “G”’s program will encompass all aspects of strength, conditioning and injury prevention by providing a joint by joint approach that allows the athlete to gain speed, agility, strength, and power. “G” will introduce the athlete to strength training by focusing on proper technique and form while using progressions to increase speed, strength, agility and power. During training, athletes use foam rollers, balls, dynamic warm-up, agility ladders and hurdles and will end with a core and conditioning component. All training will be multi-directional and multi-planar to fulfill what is expected of a lacrosse athlete.  Open to 5th-8th grade.

TRAINING DETAILS:  Tuesday & Thursday evenings • Revelution Fitness, 35 Lois Street Norwalk, CT.  Dates 1/3-3/2 • (8 weeks, 16 sessions).  No sessions during Winter break • 5:30pm-6:30pm • $240.

  • Mouthguard (no strap), can not be clear or white

  • Eyeguard

  • Sneakers (cleats and turf shoes are NOT appropriate)

WINTER I (November/December) - Grades 5-8

NEW!  BOX LACROSSE (Grades 5-8):  Join us for 6 weeks of indoor box lacrosse, a fun, fast-paced game played on a compact field with smaller teams.  It is a great way to keep those skills sharp over the winter.  Girls will be placed on balanced teams and play games in a 6v6 + goalie format.  Soft/indoor balls will be used and girls will take turns in goal.  Open to 5th-8th grade.

SCHEDULE:  Grades 5-8:  Wednesday evening • 5:30pm-6:30pm • Staples Field House • Dates 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/30, 12/7, 12/14 • 6 Clinics.

PRICING:  $110 for 6 box lacrosse sessions.

CLINIC CANCELLATIONS:  Clinics are held indoors.  If a clinic is canceled due to an unforeseen circumstance, it will not be made up.

PERSONAL TRAINING SESSIONS:  Personal Training sessions are being facilitated by Westport PAL Girls Lacrosse but are offered individually by Gaetana Desiso.  Any questions regarding cancellations or issues should be directed to the trainer individually.

WESTPORT GLAX CLINIC REFUND POLICY:  Refunds given prior to the start of the clinics will be issued less a $25 administrative fee.  Once clinics begin, refunds will be given less a $50 administrative fee, as coaches are already hired at this point.  

Please understand that Westport PAL Girls Lacrosse is a non-profit organization.  We base our budget, hire coaches, purchase equipment and pinnies based on our registration numbers.  It is therefore a burden on the program to issue refunds once the season has started.
