Rebecca is a Westport native and Staples alumna with an extensive dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading background. She trained for eight years at Westport’s Academy of Dance and three years at Stamford’s Arena Gymnastics before entering Staples, where she was a member of the Varsity Cheerleading squad for three years (serving as Captain during her senior year). As a Staples cheerleader, Rebecca attended NCA and ACE cheer camps, competed in FCIAC and State competitions, demonstrated stunts in local coaches’ clinics, ran clinics for the P.A.L. cheerleaders, and co-founded the “Varsity Vogue” Fashion Show and Auction fundraiser still held annually at Mitchells’ of Westport. She was also the recipient of the TEAM Award, Coach’s Award, MVP Award, and an All-American Nominee. After graduating from Staples in 2000, Rebecca attended the University of Virginia, where she majored in Sociology (and missed cheerleading!). Rebecca co-coached a Westport P.A.L. cheerleading squad of fifth graders for the 2004 season—four of whom went on to be Staples Varsity cheerleaders—before pursuing careers in fashion PR in Manhattan, swimwear textile sales in LA, and eventually returning to the area to start a family. Rebecca currently resides in Fairfield with her husband, Michael, their two-year-old daughter, Rylie, and their new baby Dylan. She is so excited to be involved in the P.A.L cheerleading program again! Go Wreckers!!
