SPRING 2015 TRACK & FITNESS PROGRAM
The 2015 Spring Track program will introduce your child to the sport of track and
field. We will begin by developing track specific drills for young athletes.
During the first session of each week, our staff will provide instruction on sprint specific drills such as; block starts, relay hand offs, specific speed and acceleration mechanics that are used within the sport of track and field.
During the second session of each week our staff will introduce the long jump and high Jump.
Additionally, during this second session, we will include tempo runs for athletes that
have an interest in just running events.
Each session will include a 30 minute period in which we will work on strength and flexibility.
By the end of the session we hope to teach the fundamentals of a proper warm up,
technical drills for running, and the long and high jump.
OUTLINE OF EACH SESSION
5:30 - 6:00 - Barefoot Preparation, Dynamic Warm Up, Technical Running Drills
6:00 - 6:30 - Maximum speed work for runners, technical aspects in sprinting.
Developmental drills for the long and high jump, tempo work for Sprinters
6:30 - 7:00 - Body circuits that will improve balance and coordination,
Medicine Ball exercises to develop core strength, Introduction to techniques to improve flexibility

All make up dates will be on the first available Saturday or Sunday, at 8:30 am - 10:30 am
